Do you have a manuscript that you want published, or a vision that you have been aching to get down on paper? If so, you may be a future Visiting Writer. All you need to do is submit your work. We will review your submissions, and choose three to five of them per issue. They will be displayed here, at ADvorak.com, until the following quarterly. Visiting Writers may choose to be included in our Nocturne Horizons' Visiting Writer database, where our readers will always be able to find them and their e-mail addresses. All writers will get a personalized response, and critique if requested.
When submitting your work, remember that all short stories must be less than fifteen thousand words. No gratuitous sex or violence permitted. Surprise us with strong prose and new ideas.
Poetry may be submitted, and must be of original flavor.
All work will be displayed in Adobe Acrobat format (PDF) to allow for easy reading. You may submit your work in PDF, or we will convert it for you.
And, most importantly, edit, copyedit and proofread! Black inked, 12-point Courier typed, double-spaced and left-justified manuscripts with generous margins are the industry standard. Want something italicized in publication?underline it in your manuscript.
Please include (not required) a brief author's bio to appear with your work. Submissions may be made via e-mail to the Visiting Writers' address, visitingwriters@advorak.com, as Microsoft Word attachements. Or you may send your manuscripts to:

Responses will be sent out approximately two weeks prior to the publication dates of each quarterly. If your work is selected for publication, we have a contract we require signing. You may view a sample contract here.
Deadlines to submit for each quarterly fall three weeks before publication. Nocturne Horizons issues are released on January 15th, April 15th, July 15th, October 15th.
Each submission will automatically place its author on the ADvorak.com mailing list, where you will be notified of new issues, Dvorak's current projects, and other exciting blurbs. Information on unsubscribing from this list is provided at the bottom of each mailing.
